Barry the BeeMaster Barry
is a local beekeeper serving the Greater Victoria area on the southern end of Vancouver Island, BC Canada. He is an accredited Bee Master and BCHPA certified instructor of Beginner's Beekeeping. He has been keeping bees for more than 20 years.

Honey is the main product of beekeeping. Honey bees are the only species of the more than 20,000 that do not hibernate and therefore store honey for their winter food supply. The challenge of beekeepers today is to assist the bees during winer survival and spring population buildup so they collect large amounts of nectar during the summer, which they convert to honey so there is enough for their winter food supply and some to share with the us.
